What This World Needs More Of and What I Plan to Do About It

Creating The Impossible, Inspiration, Personal Story

Hi, hello! Have you wondered where I’ve been?

I’ve been wondering too. Where are my words? Why has it become so hard to write?

I used to churn out a new blog every week. On Tuesdays, I’d show up to my local coffee shop with an eagerness and an idea and I’d walk out with a buzz and a blog, freshly pressed into the ethers of the internet.

What happened? For one, I’ve become too much of a perfectionist for my own good. And even more alarming than the first, I’m sick of my own ideas. I’m tired of what I typically write about.

It appears, that like the Earth, I too am passing into a new season. I’m shedding old skin. The things that used to make my writing come alive now feel forced. I’m wanting more—more depth and meaning, more sustenance and creativity, more impact. Not only for my writing, but for my life’s work too.

Personal evolution is something that none of us can escape. It drives our very beings and as we learn and change and grow, there comes a time to pivot and own where we’re being called to go.

While personal success and manifestation have driven my work over the past year and a half, I’m ready to step outside of this box that the online world tirelessly tries to fit itself into.

‘Make more money now’ doesn’t do it for me anymore. Making money is great and important, but what’s even greater is the value you want to add. What kind of impact do you want to create with your work? What’s the good you want to do?

There are BIG problems in the world and ignoring their presence is not helping. We need more mission-driven leaders effecting change for the causes they’re passionate about and I want to play a part in it.

Up until a few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure what that part was or how I fit into the puzzle.

Of course, there’s the work I can do personally. For example, the level of trash that’s added to the Earth every single day is utterly anxiety-provoking. I can’t walk into a mall or drive down a busy road without wondering where all the clothes and cars will end up someday. I feel overwhelmingly sad about what consumerism is doing to this planet and while I do my part to recycle and live a minimalist lifestyle, it doesn’t feel like enough.

And that’s the thing—it never feels like enough.

Even though I took in a stray cat earlier this year, I still can’t shake the thought of all the other abandoned animals who won’t be as lucky as her.

Or {having gone through this myself}, it kills me to see so many young kids going to college and putting themselves into MOUNDS of debt because that’s what they believe they have to do.

Seriously, THERE IS SO MUCH WORK TO DO and while I want to have more of an impact personally, there’s still my life’s work too, which is undeniably Coaching. I live and breathe Coaching. I love witnessing the difference it can make and the magic it creates.

…Which is when it hit me. I had just finished the Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, and as I drifted off to sleep on a tear-stained pillow, I noticed my mind doing what it usually does when it sees a gap in the world: Circle around all of the possible ways I could start to fill it.

When I woke up in the morning, I had the missing piece: What if I used my life’s work to help those who’s life’s work {or side project} is to make a HUGE difference in the causes that I’m most passionate about?

BOOM.

This realization was electric. I felt a fire blaze within me as I imagined the kind of ripple effect I could have from supporting individuals who are hell bent on making a difference.

Now, it’s not that personal success and manifestation aren’t a part of this process—they are, but they’re not what I want to lead with anymore. I think there’s a lot of fear in the coaching world that if you don’t lead with a message that speaks to a clear monetary ROI, you won’t get business.

If that’s the case, I don’t care anymore. I want my people to come to me because they’re LIT UP about effecting change in the world and they want support to accomplish it. It’s not about the goal anymore. It’s about the goal BEHIND the goal. It’s about the difference you want to make in the world.

If you’re a mission-driven leader or a self-driven leader who’s ready to step up and pursue more fulfilling and meaningful work, I want to get to know you!
