How You Keep Self-Sabotage Alive & What You Can Do to Heal It

Create, Reinvent

For most of my life, I’ve avoided anything to do with managing money.

I distinctly remember resisting my Dad’s attempts to teach me about budgeting, about the stock market, about taking out loans, about doing taxes.

And if you asked me why I was so resistant, I wouldn’t have had an answer for you—that is, up until recently.

Up until I was doing my own deep mindset work and I uncovered a belief that I bought into a long time ago. The belief that money equals pain. A belief that formed as I witnessed my parents occasionally fight about money. A belief that formed as I witnessed my Dad’s anxiety around lay-offs and the stock market crashing.

As a young, sensitive little girl, my brain interpreted these experiences to mean that money equals pain, that money is something to worry about, that money causes stress. And so, as I grew up, my ego did everything it could to protect me from the pain that money was believed to bring, including resisting anything to do with learning about or managing money.

Looking at it like this, you might think, “that’s ridiculous!” but the ego isn’t known for being rational.

And that’s the thing: These ridiculous, crazy beliefs continue to LIVE on within each of us without us even realizing it!

That’s how we keep self-sabotage alive—by choosing NOT to become aware of how our beliefs affect the life that we’re actively creating every single day.

Without becoming conscious of how our beliefs are driving our thoughts, feelings, and actions, it’s more difficult to create the kind of reality that we WANT to be living.

And so, how might you begin to heal self-sabotage and get on with creating greater and greater levels of success?

As I’ve already identified, first you must BECOME AWARE of your limiting beliefs and patterns of self-sabotage.

Second, you must ACTIVELY COMMIT TO TAKING ACTIONS OUTSIDE of your limiting beliefs and patterns.

So for example, after discovering the belief that money equals pain, I had to identify the actions I was avoiding that were keeping me from manifesting greater levels of financial success.

As a result, I committed to stepping up my “money management” game {because wealthy people manage their money}. I read books on how to manage money and implemented what I was learning. By actively committing to an action step that was previously uncomfortable, I slowly began to break down the belief that money equals pain and I actually quite enjoy managing my money now! Take that, Ego!

So this leads to another important thing to note: Becoming aware of your limiting beliefs and patterns of self-sabotage will not help you unless you use your awareness to take radically different action {that may feel uncomfortable}.

If you’re not willing to commit to doing the uncomfortable work, you won’t get very far.

There is NO magic pill. Even subconscious work, such as energy healing or EFT, requires action on your end. You can clear and reorganize all of the memories from your past, but until you DECIDE to take different action, you will not heal. Period.

So now, let’s back up and talk about how you can become aware of limiting beliefs and patterns of self-sabotage because this is key and needs to happen before you can commit to taking different action.

Sometimes, it’s easy enough to do the work on your own, but other times, it’s faster and easier to partner with an outside observer to pinpoint what’s going on and guide you to a new way of being and taking action.

This actually my zone of genius as a Coach.

And, I’ve put together a new offer that I’m SUPER excited about called, Manifest More Success: AMPLIFY {A VIP Coaching Intensive}!

It’s for you if you’re ready to get out of your own way & up level your life & biz in a major way!

Until then, question why you aren’t taking the actions you know you need to take in order to get to where you want to be. Next, get curious and dig even deeper: Where in your past has this shown up before? And where did it start? I promise, a whole new perspective will open up for you! <3
